Watch Lee Corso make shocking headgear pick for Georgia-TCU National Championship
Lee Corso was on-site at SoFi Stadium for the CFP National Championship Game with College GameDay and made his vaunted headgear pick for Georgia-TCU.
With College GameDay in Inglewood, CA and at SoFi Stadium, we knew we were going to get a dose of college football goodness before the College Football Playoff National Championship Game between the Georgia Bulldogs and TCU Horned Frogs. And even better, the legendary Lee Corso was in attendance and on the set.
Because of that, everyone was waiting on Corso’s iconic headgear pick for the natty and then we finally got there at the end of the broadcast — but not before Corso and every fan got an exhaustive monologue from the ineffable Pat McAfee just before.
In beautiful Lee Corso fashion, though, he pulled a not-so-fast on us. After talking about being wrong picking against Georgia this season, he pulled out the big Uga head and almost putting it on. Instead, he threw it aside and pulled out his TCU cap and put it on — but no Horned Frog headgear!
Lee Corso picks X over X to win CFP National Championship…but no headgear!
So the legend is going with TCU to finish off the cinderella run to win the natty. But the real question that everyone was asking was what happened to the headgear?
Regardless, he made his pick for the National Championship Game. However, that might be good news for the Dawgs on Monday night.
Corso went 0-2 in his CFP semifinal game picks as he took Michigan and Ohio State to win, both of which suffered hard-fought losses in their matchups. But maybe the living legend will turn the tide on his picks with the Hypnotoad finishing off this iconic underdog run.
