Leaked Kirby Smart pregame speech explains Georgia destroying TCU (NSFW)
By Mark Powell
Georgia destroyed TCU on Monday night to win its second straight National Championship. Prior to the game, Kirby Smart pumped up his players in NSFW fashion.
Kirby Smart has overtaken Nick Saban as the face of college football, at least for now. While Saban has the legacy Smart one days hopes to acquire for himself, recent history suggests the protege has taken over.
Prior to Stetson Bennett’s six overall touchdowns, and an eventual 65-7 romp, Smart accomplished what he does better than most — he found an angle. The UGA coach always finds a way to convince his team they’ve been doubted. He did so prior to the season, when Alabama was picked as the favorite to win the College Football Playoff. He found a way prior to an Ohio State contest they only won by a single point.
And he did so again against poor TCU, who was as much of an underdog as we’ve seen in the CFP era. The Big 12 school didn’t stand a chance from the opening whistle.

Georgia: Kirby Smart was insulted by a myth, but it worked
Someone, somewhere, doubted Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs. Was it you?
Smart is always watching, like the post-December college football version of Santa Clause. He will find your Georgia smear campaign, and he will out it in front of his entire team, just so they can beat some poor Big 12 school by 50-plus.
Hey, it works. Smart’s speech contained more profanity than most, but when you’re a head coach with that kind of reputation and that large of buyout, this is what you’re paid to do. Find the angle. Find the motivation. And sell it to your players. Kirby does it better than anyone else, and it’s part of the reason why he’s an ace recruiter and the best head coach in the country.
And, as we just found out, he gives the best pregame speeches as well. There’s no stopping this team.
