The World Surf League has announced a global partnership with YETI that will provide content and onsite services to athletes.

Announced today, YETI has become theofficial drinkware and cooler of the WSL. The world’s leader in surfing is about to embark on the 2023 season and throughout the upcoming months will now have the support of YETI behind them. This deal is for three years and will provide many services that will offer entertainment for fans, health and wellness for athletes, and programs to improve the environment.

The sponsorship will not only be for the Championship Tour but will also include the Challenger Series as well. There are ten stops of the CT scheduled for this 2023 season and at all of them, fans will be able to find hydration stations, activation coolers, and branded event bottles. In addition to the on-site amenities, YETI will be producing branded content series with YETI-sponsored athletes former WSL champion John John Florence and current champion Stephanie Gilmore.

YETI will also be involved in a program to protect the world’s oceans

In addition to sponsorship of the competition, YETI will be involved in the We Are One Ocean (WAOO) program. WAOO is the WSL’s global initiative to inspire the international surf community to protect and conserve the ocean.

“The ocean is one of the wildest places in nature and by partnering with WSL, we can join forces to help protect and celebrate it together,” said Paulie Dery, CMO at YETI per a press release. “As the official drinkware and cooler of the tour, we will continue to strengthen our relationship and support for the coastal community while helping to reduce the use of single-use plastic in coastal sports with our products.”

The 2023 Championship Tour will include 10 regular-season events in different seven countries around the world. The tour starts in January at the Billabong Pro Pipeline, the prestigious event held on Hawaii’s North Shore. Back this year to defend their titles and looking to add more are 2022 champions Stephanie Gilmore and Filipe Toledo.
