WWE Royal Rumble 2023 live results and highlights

WWE Royal Rumble 2023 takes place on Saturday, Jan. 28, and marks the official start of WrestleMania season. Here are the live results and highlights from the event.

The most anticipated professional wrestling event has arrived — WWE Royal Rumble. On Saturday, Jan. 28, the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas hosts the 36th edition of the Royal Rumble.

As is the case every year, the event will feature the Royal Rumble matches. There will be two over-the-top-rope battle royals, one featuring 30 men and the other featuring 30 women. The goal is simple for the competitors involved– throw your opponent over the top rope with both of their feet hitting the floor. The last person standing will be the winner of the Royal Rumble match and will earn a world championship shot at WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.

There are three other matches that will also be on the show. Roman Reigns looks to continue his lengthy Undisputed WWE Universal Championship reign, but will have to defeat Kevin Owens at the event. Bianca Belair has held onto the Raw Women’s Championship since WrestleMania 38 last year, but has to defend against her former ally, Alexa Bliss. Finally, Bray Wyatt will compete for the first time since returning at Extreme Rules last October, where he faces LA Knight in a Pitch Black match.
