Seahawks WR DK Metcalf apparently didn’t appreciate NFL Twitter doubting his hops in a viral video. So he showed off in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.

DK Metcalf is a freak of nature. We knew this.

Yet somehow, his eventful Friday was all about proving, again, the extent of his athletic prowess.

First, the Seahawks wide receiver set NFL Twitter on fire on Friday afternoon with a video showing him reaching incredible heights to make a catch.

Of course, there was a lot of skepticism on social media about the veracity of the feat shown in the video.

Whether or not you believe that Metcalf really jumped as high as it looked in that video (we’ve seen enough doctored viral videos to know he definitely didn’t), the truth is the man can jump really high.

He proved it on Friday night at the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game with an aerial showing to put Air Jordan himself to shame.

The All-Star Celebrity Game is usually populated by dudes who look like they have no business wearing an NBA jersey. Metcalf, on the other hand, looked like he could have been an especially built guard. Throw him into the actual NBA All-Star Game on Sunday and he wouldn’t look out of place. Heck, they should let him compete in the Dunk Contest at this point.

So yeah, maybe Metcalf doesn’t have a 72-inch vertical. But he’s still a marvel and he can dunk a basketball with the best of them, in addition to making ridiculous plays on the football field.

Having signed a massive contract extension, he’ll look to put those hops to use for the Seahawks again in 2023 after posting the second 1,000-yard season of his career this past season.

Should the Seahawks trade for Justin Fields?. dark. Next
