Tom Brady said, “Been there, done that” to Patrick Mahomes’ drunken shenanigans during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade.

What do Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes share in common? They both have multiple MVP awards, multiple rings, and they both get schwasty after winning the Super Bowl.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes showed off his wild party animal side this week, getting so lit he gave an unsuspecting Chiefs fan the Lombardi Trophy. Yup. He took a picture with a fan on the streets, handed him the trophy, and walked away.

While parents across the country are chastising their children about the dangers of alcohol consumption, trophy-throwing legend Tom Brady couldn’t resist poking fun at Mahomes on Twitter, resharing the video with the caption, “Sounds like appropriate parade behavior to me.”

Mahomes’ overflowing generosity in wanting to share the trophy with a normal civilian doesn’t quite trump Brady’s boat spectacle from two years ago. Nothing could.

And Mahomes certainly found Brady’s comment on the situation hilarious.

Brady’s Bucs beat Mahomes’ Chiefs in Super Bowl 55, and after the game, Brady decided he wasn’t done. He wanted to complete one more epic pass.

In the ensuing chaos of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl parade, Brady memorably threw the seven-pound Lombardi Trophy from his riverboat across open water into the hands of tight end Cameron Brate, who was several feet away in another boat.

This was peak, “I’m never going to retire” Brady, Brady with the cool summer shades and board shorts wearing a backward cap being carefully led off the boat onto solid ground, grinning like an idiot and thinking he could keep playing football until the day he died. He is, importantly, not to be confused with tablet-throwing Brady or divorced and thirsty Brady.

Tossing the Super Bowl trophy between boats was the most Floridian thing the Bucs could have done after winning the Super Bowl, and Mahomes and the Chiefs just had to try to one-up them in Kansas City. The effort may not have been there, but the drunkenness definitely was.

Brady’s well-meaning congratulatory post to Mahomes could evoke a classic Paul Rudd meme (go Chiefs!) between the two kings of shenanigans. Look at us, they say to each other, slurring, red-faced, and boozy from Bud Lights. Hey, look at us. Who would’ve thought?
