Is Aaron Rodgers on Pat McAfee today, March 1st?
By Josh Wilson
Aaron Rodgers could announce his decision soon. Is he going to appear on the Pat McAfee show today?
Aaron Rodgers making his decision on retiring or coming back to the NFL to play is huge for the league and the Green Bay Packers.
First and foremost, it allows the Packers to truly figure out what their future with Rodgers is. If he’s continuing to play in the NFL, will they move forward with him as their quarterback, or will they look to trade him?
In some ways, this also unlocks other free agent and trade races and the NFL rumors pace in general. The New York Jets are thought to be intensely interested in Rodgers, and if he’s available it’s assumed they’ll be a front-runner to try to trade for him. Other teams have backed out, reportedly.
If he retires or decides to come back to the Packers, that means they will turn their focus even more toward Derek Carr, perhaps getting the bidding going up to the $35 million Carr reportedly seeks.
So, will Carr be announcing on the Pat McAfee show today?
Is Aaron Rodgers on Pat McAfee today, March 1st?
There is no Pat McAfee show on Wednesday, March 1st, so Rodgers will not be on the show. The show will return on Thursday, March 2nd. It’s unknown so far if he’ll appear on that episode.
McAfee wouldn’t say exactly why he is off, other than one of his co-hosts saying, “not a lot of people,” get to do what McAfee is taking the day off for.
That said, Rodgers’ episode with Aubrey Marcus on Marcus’s self-titled podcast is being released on Wednesday morning. We already know that Rodgers is talking in detail about his darkness retreat on the podcast with Daniels. Perhaps he’ll drop some retirement news or tidbits there…
