Michigan and Georgia both mercilessly roasted Ohio State over big 2022 losses
By John Buhler
Michigan and Georgia continue to bask in their much-celebrated victories over Ohio State from last college football season.
While Georgia has not lost a game in well over a year now, Ohio State has not beaten Michigan since before COVID.
So it comes as no surprise that the Wolverines found an interesting way to celebrate their first victory over the Buckeyes in the Horseshoe since 2000. The football program has the Michigan flag that Mike Sainristil planted at in the middle of the Ohio State O on the 50-yard line on display inside of Schembechler Hall in the Towsley Museum lobby. “Those who stay will be champions.”
Although Georgia had not played the Buckeyes since Kirk Herbstreit was their quarterback up until last year, Dawg Nation has found a tasty way to celebrate Javon Bullard’s game-changing hit on Marvin Harrison Jr. in the Peach Bowl. Alumni Cookie Dough will be selling “Bullard’s Buckeye Crunch” at the 480 N. Thomas Street location from April 1 through April 15. So come get a taste!
Bullard is well-aware of how significant the play was in the grand scheme of things, but good for him capitalizing on NIL and furthering his growing connection with Dawg Nation in this venture.
"“I thought it was a blessing, man, to have a cookie dough named after myself and the team we played,” said Bullard. “It’s pretty funny, and I feel like it’s good for advertising.”"
All the while, the Buckeyes are riding a two-game losing streak and Ryan Day is feeling the heat…
Michigan, Georgia pile on Ohio State for losing to them last college season
Look. If Ohio State didn’t want this type of dancing on their grave shenanigans to happen, then the Buckeyes should have beaten the Wolverines at home and not blown a massive lead to the Dawgs in Atlanta. Even though Michigan and Georgia have been playoff teams the last two seasons, it is not like Ohio State is anything close to a poverty program. They are a top-six team in the country.
However, we have gotten to a very interesting place with Day in Columbus. Jim Harbaugh has brought his alma mater back to being a national powerhouse. The Wolverines may not win a national title under his watch, but he has been instrumental in helping change Michigan’s fortunes for the better part of the decade. As for Kirby Smart, he is already a legend in the State of Georgia.
Ultimately, these three teams will be in a group of around eight or so who can semi-realistically compete for a national title. Georgia has a tremendous opportunity to pull off an unprecedented three-peat. Michigan is poised to three-peat in the Big Ten, but College Football Playoff success still evades them. As for Ohio State, Day and the rest of the Buckeyes need to get back to work.
The only thing that tastes sweeter than victory is probably some Buckeye-inspired cookie dough.
