Looking at the best Masters finish for the top players in the field for 2023, such as Xander Schauffele, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Max Homa and more.

One of the most interesting thing about The Masters is how massively course history matters at Augusta National Golf Club. It’s perhaps the best indicator of future success, having played the track before and, more importantly, having improved with each tournament. It’s why we see guys like Tiger Woods, despite their diminished physical ability, still be able to make cuts.

But the big question coming into The Masters for 2023 is about which guys have performed at the top level at Augusta National, particularly the top players into the world. It definitely stands out for two elite-looking young players like Max Homa and Viktor Hovland to have struggled relatively at Augusta National to this point. That could make 2023 a proving ground for them.

What’s not surprising is seeing so many of the game’s elite players having shown well at The Masters in their careers. That could make for some good feels and a thrilling tournament this year at Augusta.
