The quarterback only appeared in one drive during the USC spring game but he looked every bit the reigning Heisman Trophy winner. He led the Trojans on a three-play drive capped by a touchdown to fellow Oklahoma transfer Mario Williams.
Williamsā first throw was a big-gainer to Brenden Rice, the son of Jerry Rice.

The last time USC fans got to watch Williams, he was dealing with a hamstring injury suffered in the Trojans Pac-12 title game loss to Utah. He battled Tulane in the Cotton Bowl at less than 100 percent andĀ stillĀ managed to put on a hell of a show.
Fully healed from that injury, Williams is now setting the table for what could be a magical season for him and USC.
Lincoln Rileyās offense continues to look like one of the most dangerous in college football with Williams at the helm. And the quarterback is going to have even more support this year with Kliff Kingsbury joining USCās support staff as an analyst working with the QBs.
Williams is absolutely capable of winning another Heisman in 2023. The real question for USC is whether theyāre ready to go out and win a national championship.
The showing of the defense in the USC spring game was quite a bit more mixed as they were absolutely carved up by Williams and the first team. But what defense wouldnāt be?
