Packers 7-round 2023 NFL mock draft with Aaron Rodgers, Trey Lance trade
Tavius Robinson is a quality EDGE depth piece for the Packers
At the top of the depth chart, the Packers should be set at edge. With a plethora of Day 3 picks, though, taking on a potential project like Tavius Robinson is intriguing.
Robinson comes in at 6-foot-6, 257 pounds but had eight sacks last season with Ole Miss as he finally broke onto the scene. He needs more development with his technique and approach but, with nice size and decent athleticism, seeing what Green Bay can mold him into is well worth doing in the seventh round.
Green Bay is good at LB but Mikel Jones could be a hybrid special teams ace
Given that Mikel Jones is tipping the scales around 220 pounds, it’s safe to say that he won’t be a traditional linebacker by any stretch of the imagination. However, he was a productive and quality player at Syracuse and could be valuable in the right situations. If the Packers deploy him a special teams weapon and perhaps in sub-packages as a hybrid safety/linebacker, he could have a role to play for the franchise moving forward.
Former 5-star Jadon Haselwood is worth a late-round dice-roll
One more wide receiver to add to the room, Jadon Haselwood never quite panned out at Oklahoma or Arkansas in the way that many expected he would when he was a widely touted 5-star recruit. Having said that, he has experience and clear tools to be a capable pass-catcher for an offense that desperately needs as many darts to throw at the board at the position as possible.
The Packers will like the blocking Brayden Willis brings to the table
After taking Washington in the second round, Green Bay shouldn’t be done at tight end. This is a team that only has Josiah Deguara at the position on the roster, so depth is a must beyond just an early-round pick.
Brayden Willis is more or less a blocking tight end, but he did that at an extremely high level in Norman. Adding him this late as a potential role player in the offense could be a great pickup for the Pack.
