Today’s Premier League news includes Sam Allardyce being set to take over at Leeds United, Tammy Abraham has been linked with Manchester United and a move to Arsenal for Declan Rice could be on the cards.

Premier League news: Sam Allardyce to Leeds

Leeds United are in serious danger of being relegated to the Championship. They are currently 17th in the division and have not won in their last five games. Javi Gracia is set to be sacked because of this and a familiar face to Premier League fans is set to take up the position.

According to talkSPORT “Leeds will announce the departures of both Javi Gracia… And Leeds will bring in Sam Allardyce for their remaining four games of the season.” Gracia was brought in to replace Jesse Marsch but the Spaniard’s record of three wins, two draws and 11 defeats will not save them from relegation.

Allardyce is somewhat of a specialist when it comes to saving teams from going down. He has been relegated just once from the Premier League, which was during his last job at West Bromwich Albion. He has been out of work since departing the Baggies in 2021.

Leeds has a notable USMNT contingent with Tyler Adams, Weston McKennie and Brenden Aaronson in their ranks. Adams is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to injury whilst McKennie is only on loan at the club from Juventus. It will be unlikely that any of the three will remain at the club if they are relegated.

Premier League news: Tammy Abraham to United

Tammy Abraham has flourished since joining AS Roma from Chelsea and he has scored 36 goals in 98 games for the Italian side. This form could earn him a move back to the Premier League with Manchester United.

The Mirror has reported that “United sent scouts to watch Tammy Abraham on the weekend as the club’s recruitment department searches for alternatives to Tottenham star Harry Kane.”

Whilst Kane would be the favored option, the England captain still has another year left on his contract at Spurs. With their chairman Daniel Levy being a very tough negotiator it might be difficult for United to prize him away from the North London side.

Abraham at 25 is much younger than Kane so could lead the Red Devils’ line for many years. His record in the Premier League is 21 goals in 58 games for Chelsea and he found the back of the net five times in 31 appearances when he was on loan at Swansea City.

Premier League news: Declan Rice to Arsenal

Arsenal may have surrendered the Premier League title to Manchester City this season but they could land one of England’s brightest talents in Declan Rice this summer. The Mirror has revealed that the Gunners’ manager “Mikel Arteta wants to hold talks with Declan Rice as soon as the season ends.”

It would be painful for West Ham fans to see their best player at a London rival. However, Rice is so talented that he deserves to be competing for titles and playing for a side that is competing in the Champions League.
