This weekend’s USMNT news includes Tyler Adams being linked with AC Milan, Jesse Marsch is reportedly the favourite to become the head coach of the USMNT and Josh Sargent got not the scoresheet for Norwich. However, Tim Ream suffered a bad injury whilst playing for Fulham.

USMNT news: Tyler Adams to AC Milan rumors swirling

Adams had been in impressive form for Leeds United this season before his hamstring injury which has likely ruled him out for the season. He has shone in a struggling side at Elland Road but the USMNT midfielder has not gone unnoticed and one of Italy’s biggest clubs is interested in the player.

According to Leeds Live, “Adams could be the subject of serious interest in the summer transfer window from Serie A giants AC Milan and is seen as their top replacement for Franck Kessie.”

Leeds is seriously endangered of being relegated back to the Championship this season. They are 16th in the Premier League and just one point above the drop zone. Javi Gracia’s side lost 4-1 to Bournemouth this weekend. A match that only featured Weston McKennie from the club’s USMNT contingent as Brenden Aaronson was left on the bench.

Adams has shown that he is good enough to play for one of Europe’s top sides. Milan is currently 5th in Serie A, so have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League. Adams has not played in European soccer’s premier competition since he was at RB Leipzig. At Leeds, he has been used to fighting relegation battles, so it should be an easy decision to move to Milan if the opportunity arises.

USMNT news: Jesse Marsch to the USMNT

Links that Marsch will become the next permanent head coach of the USMNT have been strengthened with the recent appointment of Matt Crocker as sporting director for U.S. Soccer. Crocker would have been involved with Marsch’s talks about becoming the manager of Southampton.

90min has reported that, “Sources confirm Jesse Marsch ‘remains the leading candidate’ for the position, but no final decision has been made.

“Interim manager Anthony Hudson will lead the American side through Nations League action before committing to another project.”

USMNT news: Josh Sargent on the scoresheet

Sargent scored for Norwich City this weekend but his side fell to a 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion. The result leaves the Canaries 12th in the Championship and unable to make the playoffs.

Norwich is managed by former USMNT forward David Wagner and their quest to return to the Premier League will take another season at least.

USMNT news: Tim Ream suffers injury

Ream was forced off of Fulham’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City today after just 20 minutes due to injury. He will reportedly miss the remainder of the campaign due to fracturing his arm.

The American has been key for the Cottagers this season and has played in 33 of their Premier League games. Marco Silva’s side is 10th in the division and losing Ream is a big blow to any hopes that they may still qualify for European competition.
