US Open qualifying results 2023: Scores, qualifiers, notable results and more
Looking at the 2023 US Open qualifying results from sites throughout the world to see which players earned their way into the field at LA Country Club.
Known colloquially as Golf’s Longest Day, Monday, June 5 is the setting for the last 2023 US Open qualifying tournaments. At 10 sites throughout the country and in Canada, 878 players who have not yet previously qualified to play at Los Angeles Country Club for the third major championship of the year will compete over 36 holes for 64 spots remaining in the field.
These aren’t just regular joes out there trying to get into a major championship either — though there are some of those players too. Many professionals, some on the PGA Tour, some on LIV Golf, some from Europe, and many others are all competing at US Open qualifying to get into the major field and have a chance at glory.
It’s a lot to keep track of, so we’re going through all 10 US Open qualifying results from Monday to see what’s happening on golf’s longest day with live scoring results that will be updated throughout the day. We’ll also take a look at the three previous qualifiers that were completed prior to Golf’s Longest Day to see who punched their ticket to the 123rd US Open already.
Note: Final qualifiers listed are official.

Tacoma Country & Golf Club – Lake Wood, WA (53 players, 2 spots)
Qualifiers
- Jesse Schutte (-3)
- Alexander Yang (-3)
Frankly, there weren’t a lot of notables in the late-starting field in Washington. But these are the guys in line to qualify late in the proceedings.
Lambton Golf & Country Club – Toronto, Ontario (27 players, 3 spots)
Qualifiers
- Ryan Gerard (-11)
- Vincent Norrman (-8)
- Ryan Armour (-7)
In a loaded small field, those three are pushing through, outlasting the immediate followers and notables on the leaderboard like Harry Hall, Jimmy Walker, Michael Block, Ludvig Aberg, Harry Higgs and Callum Tarren.
Hillcrest Country Club – Los Angeles, CA (89 players, 5 spots)
Qualifiers
- Omar Morales (-12)
- Barclay Brown (-10)
- David Puig (-10)
- Charley Hoffman (-9, qualified in playoff)
- Preston Summerhays (-9, qualified in playoff)
Hoffman was one of the most notables in the field and made it in with Summerhays over Josh Anderson in a 3-for-2 playoff. Brendan Steele came up one shot short of the playoff. Matt Jones and Dylan Block, son of Michael Block, failed to qualify.
Pine Tree Golf Club – Boynton Beach, FL (51 players, 3 spots)
Qualifiers
- Austen Truslow (-5)
- Brendan Valdes (-3)
- Carlos Ortiz (-2, qualified in playoff)
Luis Gagne and Carlos Ortiz finished at -2 and were in a long playoff for the final spot at LACC. Wesley Bryan was also in the playoff, but dropped out after the fourth playoff hole when he made par as Gagne and Ortiz made birdie. Ortiz then finally ended a wild 7-hole playoff to advance.
Matthew Wolff was supposed to be in this field but withdrew.
Hawks Ridge Golf Club – Ball Ground, GA (43 players, 3 spots)
Qualifiers
- Gordon Sargent (-13)

The national player of the year in the college ranks, Gordon Sargent, got off to a hot start and stayed hot to win, joined by Mueller and Grey. Meanwhile, veterans like Bill Haas, Patton Kizzire and Ollie Schniederjans have all withdrawn after falling out of contention to qualify.
Woodmont Country Club – Rockville, MD (60 players, 4 spots)
Qualifiers
- Karl Vilips (-4)
- Isaac Simmons (-4)
- Sebastian Munoz (-3, qualified in playoff)
- Michael Brennan (-3, qualified in playoff)
Michael Brennan, George Duangmanee, Ben Kohles and Sebastian Munoz all finished at 3-under and were in a playoff for the two remaining qualifying spots. Munoz pushed through early in that playoff, followed by Brennan with a crazy up-and-down and par to beat Duangmanee and Kohles and advance to the US Open.
Marc Leishman and Joseph Bramlett were the two most notable players in striking distance to qualify but ultimately ended up falling short.
Canoe Brook Country Club – Summit, NJ (67 players, 4 spots)
Qualifiers
- Michael Thorbjornsen (-8)
- Berry Henson (-7)
- Christian Cavaliere (-6)

Thorbjornsen is another high-upside player who made some noise. Notables who didn’t make it in New Jersey were Cameron Tringale, Kelly Kraft and Harrison Endycott.

Lucas Glover, who led after 18 holes, was in a playoff with four players for three spots with Kevin Streelman, Nick Dunlap and David Nyfjall after they all finished 8-under. Glover then missed a short par putt to put himself out of the US Open.
Erik Van Rooyen, Cameron Champ, Ben Griffin, Kevin Chappell, Jason Kokrak and Peter Malnati were some of the notables who failed to qualify in Columbus.
