"THE 47-YEAR WAIT IS OVA! THE DENVER NUGGETS STAND ON TOP OF THE NBA WORLD!"

Your @nuggets are NBA Champions for the first time in franchise history! Highlights are here with Jason Kosmicki & @ballhog44 on the call.#MileHighBasketball#BringItInhttps://t.co/NfB6aqgj11
“The Denver Nuggets stand on top of the NBA world!” Kosmicki called out at the final buzzer. “They are champions! And Nuggets fans from sea to shining sea can rest or die in peace.”
Kosmicki has been the voice of the Nuggets for 14 years. You can tell how much it meant to him. Seconds after his official call, the magnitude of the moment seemed to hit him.
“Oh my god, I can’t believe they did it,” he said in awe.
Hastings’ voice was full over emotion as he told Kosmicki to take his headset off and listen to the crowd. To take in the moment.
This was half a century in the making. The Nuggets toiled in the NBA since 1976 with a conference title to their name before this magical playoff run. The No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, Denver left no doubt as to which team was the best in the league. They downed the Timberwolves, battled by the Suns, humbled the Lakers and then ended the Heat’s Cinderella story.
They did it.
