Robert Rich was raised on a diet of NASCAR and nu-metal in the small East Texas town of Palestine. The Texan drawl is there, but not as pronounced as you'd think. He served as an entertainment writer at the University of Texas' award-winning newspaper The Daily Texan for four years, as well as a short stint as a columnist for his hometown rag The Palestine Herald-Press. We'll leave the on-again, off-again blog "Rob 'N Roll" out of this conversation. He works in marketing for a Dallas-based semiconductor manufacturer.
