The Kansas City Chiefs stormed back late in the second half after trailing by 11 points with Arrowhead Stadium heroics in NFL Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts to win in overtime, 23-20, with a Harrison Butker field goal that walked it off. Rashee Rice and Kareem Hunt led the way as Patrick Mahomes was inconsistent, as the WR1 in Kansas City finished with eight catches for 141 yards and with Hunt rushing for 104 yards and a touchdown on the day.
Refs played a role in the action throughout the day, robbing the Chiefs of an early touchdown, making some questionable calls for both sides across 60 minutes, and playing a much bigger role than anyone would've wanted to, and not just to help Kansas City as many like to project. The Colts, meanwhile, turtled up late as the offense was rendered ineffective and the defense seemingly lost its wind late, allowing the Chiefs to claw back.
The win for the Chiefs is a massive one, particularly for their playoff hopes. With a win, Kansas City now has better than a 2-in-3 chance of making it into the postseason, while a loss would've sunk that number to nearly a 1-in-3 chance. As for the Colts, the questions will remain about Daniel Jones and what the ceiling of this upstart surprise contender actually is this season.
