Karl-Anthony Towns and 2 more Timberwolves who won’t be back in 2025 after devastating injury
By Lior Lampert
1. Kyle Anderson
The Timberwolves got a bargain on veteran wing Kyle Anderson when they signed him to a two-year, $18 million contract in 2022.
Anderson, also known as “Slo Mo” for the speed at which he plays the game, is an ideal rotational piece for any team. At 6-foot-9 and 230 pounds, he offers good size, which enables him to be versatile on both ends of the floor as a player who can defend multiple positions while spacing the floor and providing secondary playmaking.
Slo Mo has seen his role reduced this season due to the cleaner bill of health the Wolves have had in 2023-24, averaging 6.2 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.5 rebounds in 22.0 minutes per game. But he showcased how valuable he is last season for Minnesota in a year where Karl-Anthony Towns appeared in only 29 games.
Like Morris, Anderson is a veteran rotational piece who should garner interest from multiple teams. He is the type of player who can help any contending team and should earn a decent pay raise in unrestricted free agency this offseason, whether from the Wolves or another team.
Minnesota will be hard-pressed to win a bidding war for Anderson, which is why this season feels like it will be his last with the Timberwolves.
