There’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding the contract situation between the Cincinnati Bengals and quarterback Andy Dalton, but team president Mike Brown seems to be feeling very confident that everything will play out just fine in the end.

More from Cincinnati Bengals

In a recent talk with the team’s website, Brown praised his signal caller and reiterated that he will be the quarterback of the franchise for the immediate future.

“You can count on one thing, he’s going to be the quarterback here for the immediate future.” Brown said.

He then stated that the two sides have had numerous talks, and while optimistic, he can’t predict a time when an agreement will be reached.

“We’ve had numerous discussions and I think like most of these matters, it will find an ending soon enough,” Brown said. “But I’m not going to stand here and predict when that will be.”

Brown would also go on to say that the contract that Dalton receives very well could be in the range of what San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick received recently, which will draw a lot of eyebrows to be raised.

People will be confused by that process because, while somewhat effective, Dalton has not had nearly the success that Kaepernick has had, especially in the playoffs.
