By Bryan Rose
The Minnesota Timberwolves continue to talk the talk and suggest that Kevin Love will be playing for their organization next season, but many seem to think they’re just puffing out their chest.

After all, their franchise player has reportedly requested to be traded and he hasn’t exactly done anything to deny such rumors. In fact, he decided to take a vacation to Boston – a city that hosts a team he’s reportedly more than willing to accept a trade to.
So what’s to come of it all? Are the Wolves going to grant his alleged request? Or are they going to sit on their hands and risk losing him for nothing come season end? The Wolves seem more than happy to keep Love in Minnesota but Sporting News suggests they’re currently ‘paving the way’ for a trade sooner than later, potentially soon as the NBA draft.
“Publicly, the Timberwolves are saying they expect Love to be in training camp with the team next fall. But behind the scenes, as one source put it, the Timberwolves are, “paving the way to make something happen sooner rather than later.” Sooner, of course, would be draft night.”
So what’s it going to take to acquire love, assuming the Wolves really are going to move their All-Star? Well, its going to start with a lottery pick according to Sporting News along with the inclusion of at least one young talent.
This all of course likely will require Love to sign an extension with his new team as few teams (if any, outside of the Sacramento Kings) are open to a deal where Love doesn’t agree to a new contract before the deal.
Earlier today news leaked suggesting Love would prefer a trade to the Golden State Warriors over the Houston Rockets, as well.
