Chicharito Hernandez denies making comments about continuity with Miguel Herrera
By Josh Sanchez
Following Mexico’s heart-breaking loss to the Netherlands in the Round of 16 in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, an interview surfaced on FOX Deportes. The interview touched on the continuity of El Tri under manager Miguel Herrera and it claimed Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez had no comment.

The quote attributed to Chicharito said, “I don’t know if it is best to continue, that is for the managers.”
Such a comment could indicate that there is some tension between the super sup and El Tri boss, but Hernandez apparently never even spoke with FOX Deportes.
After learning of the interview, Chicharito took to his social media account to deny the interview ever took place.
He was disappointed that the report surfaced and believes it was an unfair attempt to create some tension between the El Tri players.

“I just found a note that went up on FOX Deportes in which it says that I spoke about the continuity of Miguel. This ‘interview’ does not exist,” Chicharito wrote.
“It’s a shame that a medium as FOX Deportes INVENTED that, and wants to create uncomfortable situations in a group as united as this!”
Chicharito was not a part of the starting XI for El Tri during the World Cup, but that decision was made because of his lack of play when playing overseas at Manchster United according to Herrera earlier in the tournament.
Mexico’s heart-breaking loss is something that will be difficult for the team to deal with, but they will only grow stronger from the result and learn from the mistakes that they made.
As for any dissent from Chicharito, it appears that his only issue is with the media for manufacturing quotes… allegedly.
