Apparently, Joel Embiid has a lot of down time as he attempts to recover from his broken foot. The Philadelphia 76ers rookie big man, who isn’t expected to play this season, has been having fun during the LeBron James free agent sweepstakes in recent days and has repeatedly asked the Miami Heat superstar to sign with his Philadelphia Sixers on social media.

More from LeBron James

Nobody really knows if Embiid is actually being serious in his pursuit, though, it all has played out like a big joke.

It appears Embiid has had enough of his recruiting though as LeBron James, despite multiple tweets directed at the small forward, didn’t answer any of the requests. That left Joel Embiid only one move – to block King James on Twitter.

Even more hilarious? Embiid even went through with the idea, posting a screen shot after he swatted LeBron James on the social media site.

Of course, Embiid could just as easily remove the block and likely made the move just for fun, but that didn’t make it any less funny.

James meanwhile has seemingly thrown a wrench into the free agent plans of the Miami Heat as they’ve been unable to sign players thanks to the uncertainty of the contracts of he, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. It’s still unlikely he leaves South Beach, though that didn’t stop Embiid from attempting to reach out to him. I’m guessing he hasn’t been the only one, though, possibly the only to use social media in his attempts.
