When LeBron James decided to leave the Miami Heat to re-join the Cleveland Cavaliers, it was said he consulted his family on the move. Such a decision was understandable since they too would be dealing with the ramifications (both positive and negative) of James leaving South Beach.

But did LeBron James’ wife, Savannah really want to leave the Miami Heat? There have been rumors suggesting such, but according to Dan Le Batard, neither she nor James’ mother actually wanted to leave South Beach.
Transcribed by The Big Lead, the ESPN personality and Miami based writer suggested that when James was talking to his ‘family’ he was actually referring to ‘La Famalia’, James’ collection of close friends.
"But one thing that surprised me, and I heard it from a number of places, is that LeBron’s wife and LeBron’s mom didn’t want to actually go. When he was talking about going back and telling Pat Riley that he needed to talk to his family, he was talking about La Familia — the group of guys around him."
In fairness to Le Batard, he says he’s not sure who or what to believe at this point and isn’t running with that story as a complete certainty and wants to speak to LeBron James about it personally. Still, it would add yet another strange twist into Decision 2.0.
Of course, all is said and done now but if news ever does come out suggesting that Savannah James and LeBron’s mother wanted to remain with in South Beach, it’ll be a shot to the heart of Miami Heat fans.
