David Price trade rumors: Cleveland Indians interested?
By Bryan Rose
Although David Price may not officially be on the market, teams have been drooling over the idea of acquiring the former Cy Young award winner. The Tampa Bay Rays haven’t exactly suggested he’s available but of course, they haven’t denied it either.

Given that, it’s the understanding of many that Price could very well be changing zip codes in the next couple weeks as the MLB’s trade deadline nears. Teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants and Seattle Mariners have all been linked to the Tampa Bay ace but its an unsuspecting team who is showing interest.
According to Chris Cotillo, Cleveland Indians scouts have been told to focus on Tampa Bay Ray prospects, the suggestion hinting at a possible deal involving David Price.
“Sources indicate that Indians’ scouts have been told recently to focus on Rays’ prospects, which is an indication that the two sides could be working on getting a deal done,” says Cotillo.
As you may recall, this isn’t the first time the Rays and Indians have been linked together regarding a David Price rumor as Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plain Dealer previously suggested the two sides talked about a potential trade back in January.
Price isn’t going to come cheaply though as he still has an additional year of team control and is likely to bring back a significant package because of that. Pluto suggested the Rays were looking at some type of combination of Carlos Santana, Danny Salazar and shortstop Francisco Lindor during the rumored January deal and I doubt the price has dropped much, if at all.
