Unlike his rookie season, Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert has an opportunity to make his impact felt on the field early on in training camp.

More from Cincinnati Bengals

According to ESPN.com, Eifert has fully recovered from offseason shoulder surgery.

Eifert will not be able to take the field for training camp at Paul Brown Stadium.

While Eifert is on the field trying to become a major contributor in the Bengals offense led by Hue Jackson, fellow tight end Jermaine Gresham is attempting to recover from a back injury. Gresham is opening camp on the physically-unable to perform list.

ESPN states that Eifert “had a few attention-grabbing receptions Thursday.”

If he can continue to show off his skills during training camp, the Bengals and the fans will feel great about spending a 2013 first-round pick on the former Notre Dame standout.

Of course, with Jackson’s love for the running game, Eifert will need to show he can do a lot more than haul in “attention-grabbing receptions” from time to time.
