Timberwolves won’t trade Anthony Bennett for Thaddeus Young
By Bryan Rose
While Anthony Bennett is still technically a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers organization, that’s likely to change in the coming weeks as it’s been reported that Bennett along with Andrew Wiggins will be traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Kevin Love once Wiggins’ rookie contract allows for such to take place.

Talk of such a trade has been swirling for weeks and there was even a suggestion that a three-team deal could emerge with Anthony Bennett being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Thaddeus Young.
No three-team deal is scheduled to take place though the Timberwolves and 76ers are said to still be talking about a Thaddeus Young deal, though unlike before it’s not expected that Anthony Bennett would be the net return.
Many questioned why the Philadelphia 76ers would want Bennett considering they already have Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid on the roster and according to Dan Barreiro, if the Timberwolves do trade for Young they won’t be including Bennett in the deal.
While Anthony Bennett may not be much of a fit for the 76ers, Minnesota isn’t exactly stocked up on elite prospects so it’s a question mark as to what Philadelphia would receive in return for Thaddeus Young. They certainly don’t want to sell their star forward at a bargain price so it seems the most logical deal would involve some of the Timberwolves recently drafted rookies, though even then you wonder if that’s enough of a return.
For now the two sides continue their trade talks but it sounds like Anthony Bennett is off the table.
