Andrew Wiggins to wear No. 22 jersey for Timberwolves
By Bryan Rose
After nearly a month, the Minnesota Timberwolves finally completed their trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers and have officially acquired No. 1 draft pick Andrew Wiggins (along with additional assets) in exchange for All-Star power forward Kevin Love.

For what it’s worth, the trade is a welcome move for Wiggins who has been more than vocal (be it through his former Kansas coach Bill Self) about the trade, suggesting it was a good move for his career as he wasn’t thrilled with the idea of playing in LeBron James’ shadow.
Now he’ll be put in position to be the Minnesota Timberwolves next franchise star, a role he will hopefully embrace.
Endorsement deals are said to already be lining up for Andrew Wiggins, who according to Darren Wolfson, will wear No. 22 for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Andrew Wiggins wore No. 21 when he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers (and during summer league) though Thaddeus Young, who the Minnesota Timberwolves also acquired in a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers, is set to claim stake to that digit.
Given that, Wiggins decided to pick his former number which isn’t good news for fellow rookie Glenn Robinson III who previously was expected to wear #21.
Wiggins allegedly picked No. 21 with the Cavaliers originally since it was the closest digit to his college number, but he’ll be able to wear his collegiate digit since it was made available in the trade.
Have a feeling they’ll be selling out soon.
