Will he or won’t he? That’s the question being asked by many regarding the so-called ‘retirement’ of legendary tight end Tony Gonzalez.

While Gonzo decided to hang up the cleats last year, during the offseason the former Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons tight end began dropping hints that a return was possible. However, now set to become a broadcaster/analyst for CBS Sports, Tony Gonzalez says he will not be returning to the NFL.
In fact, the future Hall of Fame talent suggested that he doesn’t even want to play if the opportunity presented itself, at least right now.
The caveat here was ‘probably’. Tony Gonzalez has routinely stated in the past he’d only return in the perfect scenario, which he suggests is a team destined for the postseason who is in need of a tight end. So in essence, it’s extremely doubtful that we’ll ever see Tony Gonzalez on the gridiron again (at least as a player) though he just can’t shut the door on the idea.
It’s unlikely Tony Gonzalez’s back-and-forth will continue on as long as Brett Favre’s thankfully, especially given the fact he’ll now have studio work to fall back on.
