When it rains it pours and for the Cleveland Browns they probably feel as if they’re standing in the middle of a monsoon.

More from Cleveland Browns

As if getting obliterated by the Pittsburgh Steelers wasn’t terrible enough, they’re now without starting running back Ben Tate who was forced from the game due to injury.

Cleveland was expected to give additional work out of the backfield to Terrence West this season, mixing him in with Tate though a sub-par preseason essentially forced Tate into three-down duties. How long the Cleveland Browns will be without their star running back is unknown as his returned is deemed only as ‘questionable’.

Tate didn’t appear to show any injury on the field as the running back was not seen hobbling or limping to the sidelines at any point. In fact, it didn’t appear that anybody even knew Ben Tate was injured until it was announced in the press box that his return would be up in the air.

Add in that the Browns are getting plastered by the Steelers and it doesn’t seem likely that Tate will see the field again in Week 1 as there is no reason to risk further injury, especially given the Browns will likely spend the rest of the afternoon playing catch up.

Terrence West is expected to open up the second half when the Browns and Steelers come out of halftime.

Certainly a rough day to be a Cleveland Browns fan.
