It appears the folks at Nike have their web team on speed dial as just moments after the NFL announced Ray Rice had been suspended indefinitely, his jersey was removed from Nike’s Baltimore Ravens team store.

More from Baltimore Ravens

Of course, this is something that is likely to happen rather quickly on any site selling Ray Rice merchandise though it’s clear Nike (the official league outfitter) wanted absoltuly nothing to do with the disgraced former Baltimore Ravens running back.

When you attempt to find a Ray Rice jersey on Nike’s website, you’re met with an error page which contains the following message.

"THE PRODUCT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS NO LONGER AVAILABLETHESE POPULAR PRODUCTS MIGHT INTEREST YOU"

Of course, it appears the quick fingers of the Nike web team forgot about the women section as you can still get yourself a Ray Rice jersey there, though I’d imagine that’s likely in the process of being yanked as well.

Outside of Dick’s Sporting Goods in the Baltimore area, it appears as if Nike is the first major retailer to remove Ray Rice’s jersey from their online shop.

As we speak, NFL.com’s shop and the Baltimore Ravens are still showing that they have Ray Rice jerseys in stock though expect those to be removed rather quickly.

Fans, who have previously had their hands on a Ray Rice jersey have reportedly been attempting to take them back for a refund. A Maryland bar is also said to be offering free drinks for those who throw away their Ray Rice jersey.
