One of the most decorated defensive players to ever play in the NFL, it’s somewhat sad that Ed Reed is currently without a job.

Reed, who spent 11 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before splitting a season between the Houston Texans and New York Jets didn’t receive much interest this offseason and he’s a shell of his former self. Still, the nine-time Pro Bowl selection still believes he can be of assistance on the field and seems to be hinting that he’d like to return to the Baltimore Ravens.
Currently in the midst of the Ray Rice fiasco, the Ravens could use a strong veteran presence in the locker room, something Reed attested to during a recent interview.
"Appearing on an episode of Showtime’s “Inside the NFL” that aired Tuesday, Reed was asked who he believed to be the soul of the Ravens.“I’m sitting right here,” Reed said."
Ed Reed did go on to suggest that the Baltimore Ravens did have some players in the locker room who could help the team during this massive distraction, though was not overly subtle when he talked about who would be the best option to do so.
"Asked who in the locker room can say those exact words, Reed said, “I’m sitting right here with y’all.”"
A former Super Bowl Champion, Reed suggested the mentality of the Baltimore Ravens organization is not the same as it once was, suggesting that ‘team grow’.
There’s been no reported interest in Ed Reed on behalf of the Baltimore Ravens (either as a player or coach) currently.
