By Bryan Rose
Even before the offseason began, Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan suggested he wanted to bring a star to the re-branded franchise.

Of course, doing such was much easier said than done though Jordan seemingly got his wish after the Hornets agreed to terms with Lance Stephenson. The former Indiana Pacers guard wasn’t the only ‘star’ courted by Charlotte during the offseason as the team offered Gordon Hayward of the Utah Jazz a max-level deal, though were spurned with Utah matched their offer.
Regardless, with Lance Stephenson now a member of the franchise many are wondering where that leaves Gerald Henderson. Might he be on the outside looking in? That’s the feeling of Basketball Insiders who believes it’s possible Gerald Henderson could be traded at some point during the upcoming season.
"Henderson, who will earn $6 million this season, holds a player option for the 2015-16 campaign and could opt to test the free agent market next summer. Charlotte is banking on Stephenson to live up to his All-Star potential, which could leave Henderson with a significantly reduced role this season."
Obviously, Gerald Henderson isn’t going to be a big fan of having his role reduced and the Charlotte Hornets have fully committed to Lance Stephenson. Considering that, the Hornets may be best served by trying to get something of value out of Henderson before his stock dips. The last thing the Charlotte Hornets want to do is lose the veteran guard/forward for nothing, so you’d have to think exploratory trade talks could be on the horizon.
