Eric Bledsoe rumors: Phoenix Suns talked trade with Minnesota Timberwolves
By Bryan Rose
When NBA free agency began, the Phoenix Suns likely expected a team to offer Eric Bledsoe a contract and they’d match the deal. Simple.

Little did they know that come September, Eric Bledsoe is still not signed to a contract and he has reportedly not even spoken to the franchise in six months. Given that, the Phoenix Suns have allegedly been seeking sign-and-trade scenarios and have spoken to the Minnesota Timberwolves about a deal.
Minnesota’s interest in Eric Bledsoe has been well documented, though it doesn’t appear as if the two sides have the needed parts to complete a trade.
A few weeks back there were suggestions that the Minnesota Timberwolves could use Ricky Rubio as trade bait in a potential Eric Bledsoe deal, but earlier today it was said the Wolves were optomistic they’d be able to agree on a contract extension with Rubio.
Assuming that Ricky Rubio is off the table, as noted, it seems as if the two will struggle to find needed parts to complete a trade. Of course, it’s always possible a third team could enter the trade talks though for now it doesn’t appear as if the talks are continuing.
Eric Bledsoe has until October 1st to sign his qualifying offer with the Phoenix Suns, though that date can be pushed back by the team.
