In fact, Reggie Bush has proven himself to be one of the more explosive talents in the league when he’s on the field. The only problem for Reggie Bush is that he hasn’t seen much field time with the Detroit Lions this season as fellow running back Joique Bell has out-snapped Bush 77-62.
That includes giving Bell nine more touches than Bush through Week 2, something offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi wants to change by giving Reggie Bush more action moving forward.
"Part of that could be involving Bush into the game plan more. That’s something Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi told ESPN.com on Monday. For instance, if the Lions had stuck with the run game more last Sunday against Carolina, Bush probably would have seen some of those touches."
Lomardi went on to suggest that part of the reason Reggie Bush hasn’t seen more targets was simply due to the Detroit Lions’ game plan early in the season. He also stated that he wants to keep Reggie Bush healthy, so he doesn’t want to give him too much work though still wants him to be more involved.
Reggie Bush is expected to see an increase in touches for the Detroit Lions against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon.
