Although Rajon Rondo has been rumored to be on the trade block for quite some time, the Boston Celtics point guard has yet to be moved. That’s how things are going to stay if the Boston Celtics have their way.

Speaking to the media on Sunday afternoon, Celtics general manager Danny Ainge suggested that Rajon Rondo informed him he wanted to remain with the franchise and while he wouldn’t claim any player to be ‘untradeable’, moving Rondo isn’t something he plans to do.
“I have no intention. I’m not trying to trade Rondo, but because he’s a free agent this summer, he assured me that he wants to stay in Boston. We’d love to keep him in Boston. The possibility of a trade is not out of the question,” Ainge said. “Nobody is untradeable, but I don’t see that happening.”
Really, what else is Ainge supposed to say? That they’re actively attempting to trade Rajon Rondo, upsetting the point guard and limiting his already lowered value?
It seems rather obvious the Boston Celtics will explore trading Rajon Rondo, if not for the only reason being he’s a free agent at season end. Until Rondo is willing to commit long-term, exploring trades involving the All-Star point guard is a necessity for Danny Ainge and the Celtics.
