At some point on Tuesday, the New Orleans Hornets plan to unveil their new alternate jersey to the masses. Only problem? They were beat to the punch.

For some unknown reason multiple websites (like NBA.com) posted the jersey online for sale, all but ruining the surprise announcement. The ‘replica’ version was the only jersey posted so we haven’t seen the authentic just yet, though it’s safe to assume the two look very similar in nature.
As for the alternate jersey, it features much of the same including the chest script. The only major differences seen in the replica version are the colors and the fact the script reads ‘Pelicans’ instead of ‘New Orleans’. That doesn’t mean it’s just a jersey the Pelicans will wear at home, however.

The new color scheme, as noted above looks to be some version of red along with navy blue, a stark difference to the teal and yellow used in their normal uniforms. Many times teams are reluctant to have such a massive difference in colors, though apparently not the New Orleans Pelicans who decided to change things up considerably.
Of course, the New Orleans Pelicans aren’t the only NBA team to make a jersey announcement on Tuesday as the Dallas Mavericks also unveiled a new alternate which was picked from a crowd sourcing of fans.
In addition, the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics and more have all updated their uniform and/or will have a new alternate style this season.
