Although Ray Allen has yet to confirm if he will return for the upcoming NBA season, it seems very clear he’s not interested in participating in training camp.

As one of the most fit players in the league and a near two-decade veteran, it’s understandable as to why Ray Allen would want to miss the rigors of camp. The Cleveland Cavaliers, who are courting Allen are understanding of the situation as well and would apparently be okay with the former All-Star not joining the team until their camp concludes according to Sam Amico.
"The Cavs have told Ray Allen’s reps that if Allen wants to miss training camp/preseason, they totally get it and will accommodate."
Having to deal with a normal training camp is difficult enough, but the Cleveland Cavaliers are to head to Brazil and traveling that distance for a game probably isn’t something Ray Allen is overly excited for. He’s also probably not chomping at the bit to deal with the influx of media that will surround the Cleveland Cavaliers’ training camp given LeBron James’ return to the organization.
Given all that, it seems that if Ray Allen wants to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers, not only do they have an open door for him but they’re more than willing to accommodate to his needs.
The San Antonio Spurs, Washington Wizards and more have all been linked to Allen.
