It seems as if Carmelo Anthony has had enough of being an All-Star in the box score while watching the postseason from home. A statistical marvel, the New York Knicks forward has routinely put up impressive numbers though has little to show for it.

That appears to be something Carmelo Anthony is well aware of as noted by New York Knicks president Phil Jackson.

During a recent Q&A session, Jackson was talking about the process of re-signing Carmelo Anthony along with the implementation of the triangle offense. According to Jackson, Carmelo informed him that he didn’t want to carry the load every night for the New York Knicks.

"All we talked about in our negotiation was, “I’d like not to have to feel like I have to carry the load to score every night.” He wants some help."

This of course comes off a little questionable but it seems to be more of Carmelo Anthony asking for help/wanting to be more of an all-around player, including a facilitator which the triangle offense will allow. Before it was essentially shoot every time down the court for Carmelo Anthony and the former Syracuse star seems rather aware that style of play isn’t producing wins.

That’s not to say the current grouping around Carmelo Anthony will be enough to bring the New York Knicks back to prominence all because of the change in play style, but it should help most become better and hopefully more efficient.
