The Sacramento Kings have had an interesting offseason in which they somehow got a little bit better than they were last year. from adding Darren Collison, drafting Nik Stauskas, getting Rudy Gay to buy in more than anyone thought and watching DeMarcus Cousins get better, the Kings have a suddenly bright future.

More from Minnesota Timberwolves

But the team could be primed to make another trade this offseason and that could involve one of those power forwards they have on roster.

NBA scribe Chuck Myron opines, among the moves that the Kings can still make, trading away one of their power forwards is possible and the Minnesota Timberwolves could be serious candidates in getting something done.

"Maybe there’s a fit with the Wolves, who are trying to offload J.J. Barea? D’Alessandro hooked up with Flip Saunders on the Derrick Williams trade early last season, so perhaps they’d do business again, though that’s just my speculation."

Minnesota would give away Barea if they could, but the prospect of getting something — anything — for his bad contract is attractive. The Kings would be absolutely stacked with guards though if this trade happens, unless the Kings buyout Barea and dump him as part of the trade.
