While the NFL has a dark cloud looming over the league, there are several bright spots and heart-felt stories still coming out of the league. One of them is about the Cincinnati Bengals and defensive lineman Devon Still.

More from Cincinnati Bengals

Still’s 4-year-old daughter, Leah, is battling stage 4 neuroblastoma, a form of pediatric cancer.

The Bengals originally cut Still, then signed him to the team’s practice squad to give him a salary and health insurance to help him and his daughter out.

They even began selling his jersey to raise proceeds for pediatric cancer research, a campaign that produced $400,000 worth of funds in only four days and included New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton buying 100 jerseys.

On Thursday morning Still was driving his daughter to the hospital so his daughter could have surgery and gave her a little, and adorable, pep talk.

“I might be nervous and scared beyond words but I’ll never let her see it…let’s get this done!” Still wrote on Instagram.

We’re keeping Leah in our thoughts and prayers at FanSided.
