By Bryan Rose
When the Milwaukee Bucks drafted Jabari Parker with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, they appeared unsure of where to place the former Duke star.

Would he be a small forward? Or perhaps even a power forward? At just 19-years-old and working with a non-NBA ready body, the assumption is that Jabari Parker would likely slide into the small forward role as he’s likely not ready to bang in the paint just yet.
But the Milwaukee Bucks may have to respect the wishes of their budding young talent after he suggested he’s more comfortable playing the power forward spot during his rookie season.
“As of right now I’m more comfortable with the 4 position,” Parker said. “That’s where I played previously, before getting drafted, at Duke. I played a lot of 4. Even in high school. I know this is a different level. But in coach’s style of play, it’s more a stretch 4. That’s where I like to play my game, even though I like to post up a little. Just being on the perimeter, setting screens and popping, that’s what we’ve been doing so far. That’s what coach Kidd has been anticipating me playing that role.”
Defensively Parker is likely to struggle no matter the position so if he’s more comfortable at the power forward spot, that’s where you should keep him. Of course, when he has to go up against some of the more brute power forward’s in the NBA, he might have a change of heart. For now though, it appears Jabari Parker will handle the starting power forward duties for the Milwaukee Bucks.
