By now I’m sure you’ve heard the story of Devon Still, a Cincinnati Bengals DT whose daughter is fighting cancer. The Bengals have been selling out of Still’s jersey after they announced that the proceeds from all jerseys would be donated to fight pediatric cancer. Coaches and other NFL organizations have been purchasing hundreds of jerseys at a time, and fans have shown their support as well with the Bengals pro shop selling out of Stills’ jersey again and again over the past few weeks.

Now fans have begun receiving their jerseys in the mail and they have gotten a little heartfelt surprise to go with them. Fans who have waited four weeks for their jerseys to arrive were greeted when they opened the box with a personal message of thanks from Devon Still himself. The message read as follows:

“I want to thank you for supporting my family and my daughter Leah through your generosity. It means a lot to me, and it means a lot to families fighting cancer in Cincinnati and across the country. Thank you for giving — we appreciate it more than you know.”

As of now over 40,000 of the Still jerseys have been sold and the proceeds have generated over $400,000 to help fight pediatric cancer.
