Marcus Smart was taken in the lottery by the Celtics, which means that they’re more than just a little high on him and how he can lead the team. Rondo was supposed to ease him into that role, but things have clearly changed.
With Rondo out for the next 6-8 weeks, the Marcus Smart era in Boston has begun.
Good news for Celtics fans is lottery pick Marcus Smart will get plenty of reps at point in training camp -- along with Phil Pressey.

Trial by fire time for Marcus Smart in Boston. Will be some ugly moments early but getting immediate playing time at point will be good.
