Boston Celtics expecting Marcus Smart to step up for Rajon Rondo

The Boston Celtics were dealt a huge blow this Friday when guard Rajon Rondo was ruled out for the next six weeks at the very least which is bad news for the immediate future of the team. But the loss of Rondo means the fast tracking of another guard on roster.

Marcus Smart was taken in the lottery by the Celtics, which means that they’re more than just a little high on him and how he can lead the team. Rondo was supposed to ease him into that role, but things have clearly changed.

With Rondo out for the next 6-8 weeks, the Marcus Smart era in Boston has begun.
