After a long and grueling offseason, NBA fans can finally smile again. Media day is finally upon us and the Brooklyn Nets are flying under the radar. Last season, the Nets had championship or bust expectations and it is the exact opposite this time around. This offseason, the Nets lost Paul Pierce and Shaun Livingston to free agency, along with losing coach Jason Kidd to the Bucks.

More from Brooklyn Nets

The Nets replaced Jason Kidd with new coach Lionel Hollins, traded for Jarrett Jack and signed Bojan Bogdanovic who was recently playing in Europe. The Nets had no draft picks coming into draft night, but that didn’t stop general manager Billy King from trading for two second round picks. The Nets drafted Markel Brown out of Oklahoma State and Cory Jefferson out of Baylor in the second round.

Coming off of ankle surgery, Deron Williams is hoping to return to his old form once again this season. Lionel Hollins told reporters a few days ago that Williams is back, but according to Williams he’s not fully healthy just yet. Take this however you want to, but this should concern the Nets organization. If Williams isn’t fully healthy next season the Nets don’t stand a chance of being competitive in the eastern conference.

Some questions were answered at the Nets media day, but others still need to be addressed. We now know that the Nets didn’t really practice under Jason Kidd, Joe Johnson will be playing small forward and Deron Williams apparently isn’t 100 percent yet. The main question that has still been left unaddressed is who will start at the two guard position for the Nets.

Training camp for the Nets starts tomorrow and their first preseason game is on October 7th.
