Leah had a six-hour operation to remove her tumor and lymph nodes as she battles stage-four pediatric cancer and what Devon once said was a 50-50 battle to save her life.
The good news is the operation was a success as the surgeons were able to remove the entire tumor, but she must continue to fight before doctors rule her cancer-free and she will need to continue chemotherapy and radiation treatments as they hope to completely remove all the remaining cancer cells in her body.
Devon posted this picture to his Instagram account with the caption, “Thanks to Chip Kelly and the Eagles for sending these surprise gifts and flowers to my daughter.”
Still was signed to the Bengals practice squad so he could receive the health insurance necessary to help cover the costs of Leah’s treatment before activating him to the 53-man roster for their Week 2 win against the Atlanta Falcons.
The team is selling his jersey online with all proceeds going to fight pediatric cancer. New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton purchased 100 jerseys earlier this month.
In a league where the negative news has dominated the news cycle, this story about Leah the way the NFL world has rallied around her has been heartwarming.
