Last season, the Los Angeles Lakers were decimated by injuries.

More from Milwaukee Bucks

They became especially thing at point guard after losing future Hall-of-Famer Steve Nash, among others. The Lakers found Kendall Marshall in the D-League and he played very well with them.

Despite his success, the Lakers waived him and he was claimed by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Larry Coon of Basketball Insiders believes we’ll hear a lot more about Marshall this season.

"Agreed, and his assist numbers weren’t good, they were great. Someone making the minimum who can get you eight assists per game? That’s a no-brainer. If he really gets a chance in Milwaukee, I think you’ll be seeing his name mentioned a lot more."

Marshall was a lottery pick in the 2012 NBA Draft but never made an impact for the Phoenix Suns. After just one year in Phoenix, he, along with guard Shannon Brown, guard Malcolm Lee and center Marcin Gortat, were traded to  to the Washington Wizards for big man Emeka Okafor and a first round pick in June’s draft. He was sent back to the D-League and the Lakers wound up signing him after their injuries piled up.

In 54 games with the Lakers last season, he averaged 8.0 points, 8.8 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 0.9 steals per game while shooting 40.6% from the field, 39.9% from beyond the arc and 52.8% from the free throw line.
