Rajon Rondo out six weeks with broken hand, trade value takes a hit
By Josh Hill
The Boston Celtics are trying to bounce back this season and make sure they’re a competitive young team but that took a major setback on Friday afternoon.

Rajon Rondo has been a huge piece of the Celtics roster the past few years and he remains the only superstar on the team after the Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce trade. But the times are changing in Boston and Rondo seems to be on his way out.
But while the team would like to figure out something with him such as a trade or an extension, neither will be happening anytime soon. On Friday, Baxter Holmes from the Boston Globe reports that Rondo broke his hand and had surgery.
Adrian wojnarowski reports that the timetable is indeed clear and is at least six weeks.
This is bad news for the Celtics as it means he won’t be able to be traded for at least six weeks and probably not at all this season. His trade value is still there, but he’s in a contract year and teams who weren’t banging down Boston’s door to get him won’t be giving up anymore than they already were willing to in order to land him.
