Talent hasn’t ever been a question for Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins. What has plagued the former Kentucky star is a sometimes poor attitude and a lack of efficiency.

Those are two things Cousins has been determined to fix however and the budding NBA star says he’s now a better player after participating in the FIBA World Cup with USA Basketball.
“I feel like I added a lot to my game, especially defensively,” Cousins said Friday during the team’s media day. “I have the confidence to know I really can do it on the defensive end as well as the offensive end. I learned a lot from it, it was an incredible experience.”
There’s no denying that DeMarcus Cousins is one of the most talented big men we’ve seen in the NBA during the last decade. Of course, he’s been his own worst enemy at times and that has soured the opinion of many. Still, the Sacramento Kings center seems determined to shake the self-created stigma.
An overly emotional player, DeMarcus Cousins will always be a lightning rod for controversy though the better he continues to play, the more he’ll continue to win people over. He’s certainly already done so in Sacramento as he’s not only a fan favorite, owner Vivek Ranadive has invested in Cousins as the Sacramento Kings’ franchise player.
