With all the bad going on in sports (Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, Tony Stewart, etc.), the feel-good stories hit twice as hard as they usually do. And one that will soon dominate storylines once the NBA season begins is LeBron James returning home to kick off his second tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

And how does James feel about being back? To him, as he revealed at the Cavaliers media day, it feels right.

Right is the perfect word to describe his situation. Throughout sports, certain names being attached to certain teams is the only way it should be done. Derek Jeter will forever be a New York Yankee. Michael Jordan will forever be remembered as a Chicago Bull. Peyton Manning will forever be remembered as a Indianapolis Colt.

For LeBron? He’ll forever be remembered as a Cleveland Cavalier.

And like many named above, that feeling will increase ten-fold if LeBron can do what those in the past (himself included) failed to do: bring a championship to Cleveland. For Cleveland, the feeling is amplified because in the last 20 or so years, the city of Cleveland has suffered a serious sports drought — their last championship came in 1964 when the Cleveland Browns were crowned NFL champions. If James can pull this off he becomes a sports entity and a Cleveland legend.

James’ time with the Miami Heat won’t be forgotten. If anything, those are the years that created the person we see today. But when it’s all said and done, when you mentioned LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers will be the team that follows.
