With both Kyrie Irving and LeBron James on the roster, there isn’t going to much opportunity for ball handing on the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, Cavs shooting guard Dion Waiters thinks he has what it takes to handle the rock and wants to share those duties with both Irving and James.

Waiters, who has become known more for his scoring ability has opined all offseason that he’s more of a complete player than he’s given credit for and apparently wants to show those skills off to the masses.
“I’d love to play point guard,” Waiters said during his press conference on Friday. “I would love the opportunity if coach gave me a shot at that, I would love to take on the full commitment to that because I think I could play the one also.”
While it’s possible Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt may allow Dion Waiters to play point guard on the rare occasion, there’s really no reason to not have him handling the rock when either LeBron James or Kyrie Irving are on the court.
Dion Waiters has of course played point guard at the NBA level before as he handled those duties when Kyrie Irving was injured last March. Still, it seems like Waiters’ best chance to play point guard will be in an emergency/injury scenario.
